Veneers & Inlays / Onlays
We typically use three different materials to transform teeth with veneers: IPS e.max, IPS Empress and Feldspathic.
- e.max is particularly good for masking out underlying tooth colour. This can be very useful when teeth are dark or stained. It would be layered with porcelain for the best aesthetics in this application.
- Empress is very beautiful and translucent and so lends itself very well to veneers.
- Feldspathic Porcelain veneers have been the treatment of choice before newer materials became available. They still have a place in this application because they can be very thin although they have limited ability to mask out the underlying structure.
As always, a number of variables need to be taken into consideration for the best outcome. We are your resource.
Inlays and onlays will be made out of e.max. Alternatively, they can be made out of metal with the same benefits when aesthetics are not a concern.
